"Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish." [Qur'an 17:81]

The purpose

There are many belief systems. To the believer of any belief system, what they believe is the right way to live and they hold it dear to their heart. This belief system can be religious based, secular, atheistic or just about anything else you can imagine. These systems can be the same or different, but what we should do is respect one another and our right to believe in what we want. We don't need to attack each others way of life, and nor do we need to try and discredit one another. It serves no meaningful purpose and only achieves isolation and breeds hatred.

Freedom of speech gives us the right to say what we desire, but it should not be a tool abused in order to slander one another's belief systems. Freedom of speech is a basic human right, but what good is the right when it infringes upon others and causes harm and distress. There has to be a balance between free speech and offensive speech, a line has to be drawn.

However seemingly there is no line drawn when it comes to Islam. Islam is the most criticised, slandered and defamed way of life of all these belief systems. Some criticisms of Muslims are justified, but the campaign against Islam, the religion and its teachings is something entirely different. Type 'Islam' into google, yahoo or youtube and you will find examples of this effort to propogate, spread and brainwash people into believing lies about Islam. This is an international global effort of epic proportions, which ranges from fake stories of people leaving Islam and videos of apparent 'Muslim girls' behaving immorally so Islam is discredited, to arab speaking individuals who try and attack the Quran, whilst others re-write history in order to make it fit their anti Islamic agenda. A cocktail of deception, lies, mistruths, half truths and twisted truths all trying to attack Islam. Why? Only the people responsible can answer.

Whatever the reason is, I aim to do my part in refuting some of these lies. I am entirely insignificant compared to the campaign I try and respond to, but God willing I will try my best and hope to get the message out in order to show Islam for what it is, and not what certain people want you to believe about it. I will also use this as a forum to highlight the Islamic position on certain issues and give reasons for why they believe certain things

The Islamic view is simple and is best illustrated by the following chapter of the Quran, where God states:

Proclaim, (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “O disbelievers!”
Neither do I worship what you worship.
Nor do you worship Whom I worship.
And neither will I ever worship what you worship.
Nor will you worship Whom I worship.
For you is your religion, and for me is mine.

(Surah Kafiroon - chapter 109)

You believe what you want, and I will believe what I want. However because some people see it fit to spread lies and not 'live and let live' as the Quran commands us to, I will respond. I will deal with as many of the false claims made by anti-Islamists as possible. Inshallah this can be a good source for people looking for refutations to the false claims

I would like to end with a quote from the Quran where God states:

"When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes, for falsehood is by its nature bound to perish" (Surah Isra Chapter.17, Verse No.81)
